7 months ago, I was going through one of the deepest valleys of life. All that I had looked forward to seemed to come to an absolute nothing, in a moment.
But it was here in my deepest pit that I found my strength in the love of God.
The God Who Never Changes
God is not a man that He should lie. Nor the son of a man that He should change His mind. (Numbers 23:19)
As humans, we tend to miss the mark more often than we hit it. We may be disobedient, ignorant, or simply too lazy to follow through. Yet, the grace of God finds us where we are and lifts us, every time, without fail.
When life looks unfairly miserable and our mistakes threaten to haunt us to our very graves, the love of God sings over us (Zephaniah 3:17)- promising to abound much more than our sins (Romans 5:20).
He forgives our sins and remembers none of our iniquities. He satisfies our mouth with every good thing. (Psalm 103:3,5) His goodness runs after us, chasing us down all the way! (Psalm 23:6)
The God Who Keeps His Promises
The love of God endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations. (Psalms 119:90)
He never goes back on His word, He never breaks His promises. (1 Peter 1:25)
Men may promise and forget what they said. But our God is the God who goes the extra mile.
His ways are beyond our understanding and even when the situation seems to be against us, He works all things together for our good (Romans 8:28).
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him for he will never be dismayed.
Even if our father and mother forsake us, the Lord will take care of His children. (Psalm 27:10)
The God Who Gave Up Everything
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
God loved the world- yes, that includes all of us, believers and non-believers.
He loved us so much that He gave up His only begotten Son- Jesus -to be our redemption. His life was poured out as a ransom for our sins (Mark 10:45).
We all had gone astray, each choosing his way, and yet the love of God ran after us, choosing to leave the 99 for that one lost sheep.
Who can love us like Him? The limitless God with His ever-enduring love will leave no stone unturned to call us back to Him, even if that stone is His only begotten son.
Great is our Father, and greatly to be praised. For His love endures forever and His faithfulness for all ages.
