In our walk with the Lord, there will be times when we are stuck with questions. In fact, it all started with a question in the most delightful place on earth…” Did God actually say…” followed by another question…” Who told you that you were naked?”(Genesis 3)
The thing about questions is that as long as you ask them of the right source, you will get valid information. But what if the source itself is biased, untruthful, and ridiculously absurd?
I constantly tell my loved ones to walk in the light of His word. God isn’t a man that he should lie and even if all the flowers and all the grass in the world withers, His promises will never fade away.
He is a covenant-keeping God.
We, on the other hand, are humans riddled with situations. At times we may have not a single clue of why what is happening – life may seem unfair, the wicked and evil may seem to be flourishing and getting an upper hand, and yet, the truth to be remembered is “God is faithful.”
To those who are in Christ, He has promised an abundant life. (John 10:10)

Living out the Abundant Life of Christ
Here are 3 things we can do to walk in the fullness of His plans for us on earth:
Watch Your Tongue
This is an area where most, including me, struggle at times. When things get difficult, we want to lash out either on our loved ones or on the other unfortunate souls nearby. But as the Psalmist says in Psalms 34- the one who wishes to see good days must keep his tongue from evil. And here is where we need the fruits of the Spirit, especially love, patience, and self-control.

Pray in Tongues
The gift of tongues is the ultimate breaker of unhelpful habits that we have been clinging to so desperately.
It is like a river that refreshes, although while you begin, it may feel as if you are flowing upstream ( a very difficult feat to achieve). I remember when I received the impartation of this gift- the first few weeks it was barely a few syllables here and there but as I pressed on, fanning up the flames with deliberate exercise (exercising my tongue as I spoke the heavenly language) the flow became smoother and smoother- until I myself became one with the stream.
Praying in tongues can calm all the nonsensical worries we tend to have when faced with questions and uncertainties. What’s more, if you keep your tongue engaged in saying the right things- guess what will automatically go down- negative confessions that hinder the work of God!

And that brings us to our third to-do to live out the life of Christ in us.
Confess His WORD
The word here doesn’t mean the word of the world- it is not what your mum is saying or spouse is saying- neither what your boss is saying nor any other human for that matter. It does not even include your secret self-talk.
There is only one word to be meditated upon and confessed aloud- the word of God. So many Christians live defeated lives for they do not realize the power of their words.
When Joshua took on leadership after Moses, God specifically instructed him to meditate on His word day and night for good success.
What comes out of your mouth when trials press you is a good indicator of what you have been meditating on.
Is it the lies of the world, the worries transferred by peers and families, or faith implanted by the word of God?

What If I Have Messed Up So Far?
The good news is God works all things together for our good (Romans 8:28) and if we have already messed up so far with all our non-sensical, world-based utterances, we can partner with God to restore it.
Hold God’s words in your mouth (speak them aloud), eat and chew on it (meditate) like a cow chews the cud until your Faith arises! Because all things are possible for those who believe! (Mark 9:23)
When the world confesses death, confess “ I will live and not die and declare what the Lord has done. (Psalm 118:17)
When the world confesses financial struggles, confess, “ I will lend to many nations but not borrow. (Deuteronomy 28:12)
When the world confesses aging and decay, confess, “ I will mount up on wings like eagles, I will run and not be weary, I will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)
When the world confesses delay, confess, “I will commit my ways to the Lord and all my plans will be established.” (Proverbs 16:3)
When the world confesses danger and threat, confess, “ A 1000 may fall dead beside me and 10,000 all around me, but I will not be harmed. For God will put his angels in charge of me to protect me wherever I go.” (Psalm 91)

So, the next time you are tempted to agree with an unbelieving believer who has the world’s dictates in their mouth- hold your tongue, look to His word, and confess what God says about your situation.
Where the word of a king is there is power (Ecclesiastes 8:4) and we in Christ are kings and priests (Revelation 1:5-6). May the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts be found pleasing in His sight. (Psalm 19:14).
Amen!
