I had a cyst removal surgery yesterday- the first ever surgery of my life. Never before have I lain on an OT table, worn that typical clinical gown, or been injected with so many medicines! Yes, there was a little pain, and a burning sensation as they injected the local anesthesia and dabbed my back with God knows what- but the smoothness with which the entire procedure came to a close speaks volumes of the faithfulness of God!

I remember praying in tongues throughout the procedure. As my eyes became heavy (can local anesthesia do that?) I recited Psalm 23.

Even in the valley of the shadow of death, You are with me;

Your rod and staff comfort me.

Psalm 23:4

There was this moment where I distinctly remember a still small voice saying to me, “rest in your Father’s arms.” I closed my eyes and felt His tangible embrace, and protected under His wings (Psalm 91:1), I dozed amidst the surgery!

Truly there is no one like our God! He holds us in the palm of His hands (Isaiah 49:16)- He sings over us with delight (Zephaniah 3:17)!

There is no one like our Father. All glory and praise be to Him, now and forever!
